Ad Astra

3/4/2007   My first foray into the wild world of cons ( For "those in the know", a slang term meaning convention) It was an . .interesting experience. Met lots of people, some wearing very odd clothing items, some wearing very odd facial masks, some wearing . .weapons . . real ones .. not odd, just a bit disconcerting. And quite the party bunch, believe me.

Rob Sawyer (from Banff writing residency) was a gracious host and generous with time and concern. I met lots of people. Not sure how many of them will further my career much but at the very least I broke into a vibrant and committed writing community. Being known is a good step and I came away with several story ideas and some writing techniques that will be useful as I continue with my work. Not bad for an initial try. Not bad at all.

Now if Air Canada could only get its act together . . . . . .(another story, another time. . . when I'm calmer!)

Sure would've liked some details about Ad-Astra...

Seriously!
