It's Time for Celebration
12/8/2008 I believe I've alluded to "life stuff" in previous postings. The "life stuff" is finally and officially over. I am a free woman! Time to celebrate!
The things that were most important to me -- my children and my family cottage have been saved from the wreckage. The rest is just icing on the cake. I have no problems with rebuilding -- brick by brick as necessary. I may never be able to retire BUT I will not worry about that one today. Today is for gratitude and contentment.
As I was going through this, a friend told me that this process is like walking through a thick fog. You can't see ahead of you. You can't see behind or beside. There is no way to discern danger lurking in the gloom. All you have is one step in front of the other. You have no idea when it will end. IF it will end. The hardest part. That analogy proved to be very true.
But now, as I clear the fog, I look back on the landscape I've just left and I see dotted throughout, beacons of light shining all along the way. Those lights would be my friends. Those lights got me through when I felt like the darkness had won and I was lost.
To my friends, thank you for everything -- listening to me, advising me, picking me up, making me laugh, encouraging me, praying for me, bringing me coffee/flowers/chocolates/comfort. I am incredibly blessed and rich, beyond words, with friendship.
That is truly all that matters.
And so, we celebrate.
Hey, Just signed on to look and see if you had posted anything and I am so happy for you! Your description of the whole process is vivid and makes me wish I could have been closer to help you through it. Things will become so much easier now! Love you, Deb

Fantastic news, Bev! I am SO happy for you! Think of me, drinking a small glass of something in my house with no walls -- celebrating with you in spirit, if not in body.
Have a fantastic Christmas. You deserve it!
